Dag Hol
Studied Nordic, French, German and Sanskrit, literature and language at the University of Oslo. Studied art at the State Academy of Art in Oslo, Norway, from 1980 to 1984. Private studies of the European masters from 1400 to 1900. Studies of American, Chinese, Japanese and Indian art.

Grants: Grant from the United States International Agency (USIA), Mid American Art Alliance to stay and work 75 days in the US, 1992. Finished a 10 x 20 feet (3 x 6 m) historical painting after more than 6 years’ work, permanently exhibited as a main attraction at Stiklestad National Center of Culture, Norway, 1994.
For 8 years (1994 -2002) worked with a series of paintings from all parts of Norway, trying to show “the Norwegian soul”, which were exhibited in Oslo City Hall November 2002. These paintings, 28 altogether, created a lot of attention in the media in Norway, both national TV, radio and national newspapers.
