Amit Das

Amit Das is an Indian painter whose work blends the intimacy of figurative form with the quiet poetry of ambience. Trained in commercial photography at the Regional Institute of Printing Technology and later a visiting faculty member there for a decade, he spent over thirty years in professional photography and color printing, sharpening his eye for light, detail, and human emotion.

Deeply influenced by his mentor, the renowned painter Paritosh Sen, Amit’s artistic language is intuitive rather than academic. He believes every figure carries its own atmosphere—an inner presence that reveals itself when the artist listens more than he directs. His paintings remain mostly untitled, inviting viewers to interpret and enter the work through their own emotional doorway.

Amit has participated in international workshops, including two visits to Photokina, Germany. Yet his creative philosophy remains simple: art is a personal conversation among the creator, the artwork, and the viewer’s silent gaze. His virtual exhibition reflects this quiet dialogue—each piece is not a statement but an invitation.
